A Lendrum Dt spinning wheel! Please note that my wheel has 3 protectors, 2 of which have laser beams for eyes. Hands off! You have been warned....
I tried to take a picture of the fiber I spun up, but my photography skills today seem to have abandoned me. Probably from the excitement of having a wheel!

The brown is shetland and the white is alpaca. The shetland was much easier to spin! Next I will be trying the pretty blue BFL I bought the other day.
I didn't buy a case for it. Budget you know. So I took a page out of the Japanese handbook and furoshiki'd the wheel when not in use. To keep cats and dust away.
It's a bedsheet I had tucked away that I never used until now.
I'm off to play.

No one eats the "bread bums" in my house, so I save them up and make them into crumbs. It's a good way to feel productive.
I'll pick up the clog again today. It is pouring rain out and I don't want to leave the house. Hopefully it goes a bit more smoothly. There will be much counting of stitches today, I tell ya!

Second, another clog:

The only pic that turned out was the headless one. Which wasn't headless on purpose. That's what you get when you take pictures of yourself with a timer, I guess!
That concludes our knitting progress for the weekend post. As you can see, a good bit of time was spent knitting. How about your weekend? What did you do?

Next the bedroom or the Main Stash

I probably missed the odd little stack of books that wind up in odd corners of our house. But I think that you get the idea....

As it turns out, I did not have enough yarn in those 2 skeins. The Lion Brand yarn does not have the same yardage as Paton's Classic. I know what brand I'm buying from now on. Not even sure how the Lions brand got into the stash. I was short 2 lousy rows. So I used some leftover purple wool I had. Might even have been the same dyelot as the first purple skein. No idea, the ballband was gone.
Now to sew them up and felt them!

One drawer for the knitting needle cases, one for little projects that are on the go and one for loose patterns!
On top, for decoration's sake of course, is the fishbowl.
With fibre in a lovely blue from KreativeKitties. It's blufaced leicester and I can't wait to spin it. Alas, first I must free up my spindle from the current batch of fibre....
Gotta go spin something.

I have joined for in the round and am zooming along! Yippee!

Whether that is enough for a pair, remains to be seen. I have small feet. There is more feltable wool in the stash. So slipper #2 might be more multicoloured. Time will tell.
I'm off to play with the Black Tomato.

Blocking pins! I only have enough to do 3 squares at a time. Which means it is going to take weeks to block them out at that rate. So I need to get more pins. Just for giggles, I started blocking them yesterday. Even at 3 at a time, it'll mean those 3 are done, right? RIGHT???
At the moment I can't leave the house. I am waiting for the fridge repair guy to come by. Last week the temp in the fridge went up to 48 degrees. Correct temp for a fridge is 33-38F. (why yes, I have a thermometer in my fridge. Doesn't everyone?) We had to crank the thermostat in the fridge almost to the top setting to get it down to where it should be. It still hovers around 38. Not too high, but certainly almost too high. Anyway, when we bought the fridge, we got a package whereby we get a free service call once a year until 2012, I think it was. So this is my call. The irritating part is that the time window they gave for the service call was 8-4pm. So I had to make sure I was up and dressed (sweatpants is dressed, right?) and have my hearing aids in so I can hear the guy when he comes by. If he comes by this morning. When I am normally ,on my days off, still in my pj's and bathrobe, with uncombed hair and no hearing aids.
Sigh. The joys of adulthood.

I'm liking it. Which is why I'm irritated at the enforced delay.
God, grant me patience. And I want it right now.

The wood needle pulled out of it's metal end! I saved the stitches, fortunately. Unfortunately, when I tried to Crazy Glue the tip back in, some glue must have gotten on the threads and now the tip does not screw into the cable. Knitpicks is sending me a new one. Yay! That does mean Tomato is on hold for the nonce. Boo.
I guess I should finish the hubbunny's boot liners then.....

To this:
I have some Berocco Denim Silk in the stash. I might try the Leaf Tank with that next time. But for the moment, I cast on for a second Tomato top from no Sheep for You. I wear the first one I made a lot, and there is enough of the yarn I just frogged for it, so that's what it will be. I had a couple of other ideas, but the swatch just wouldn't cooperate, so Tomato it is!
At the moment it is literally 2 rows, so, no pic of that yet. Maybe tomorrow, or the day after.....

~Raven

This appears to be a winner. So I wrote down what I did in my journal so I won't have to do that again!
I think I will felt up version 1, stuff it, add catnip and give it to Raven. Can't let the toy supply get low.

I have not actually counted how many to do still. I'm afraid I might do something foolish like run out into the street with my metal dpns yelling "how many squares??? How many squares? HOW MANY SQUARES!!!!" and get all stabbity on the lawn. While that might get me into the psych ward for an evaluation and away from work, I suspect not much useful knitting would get done as they would probably sedate me to the eyeballs.
I probably ought to go knit some more squares now.
