A Rant

This song has been driving me mad.

So, dude acted like a jerk and is wanting a second chance, His bait to bring his woman back is money. So he's trying to buy her off. IF he gets some money. So really, he's trying to bribe her with hypothetical money. Right.

I know what I did wasn't clever But me and you were meant to be together

If they were meant to be together, then why did he screw it up so bad?

Oooookaaay. So, let me get this straight. Dude cheated on his woman. He got caught. He didn't have a ready excuse. He now is trying to bribe her with possible future monies cause they were meant to be together. If they were meant to be together, why did he cheat on her?

I know what I say. Git yer ass to the curb boy and don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out. The video shows her being swayed by this incredibly poor excuse for a man.

All the SIngle Ladies by Beyonce. Like, we're no good without a ring on our finger. (Okay, I have the ring on my finger, but so does he, and I was fine before him).
This song of yours reminds me a bit of Adam Giambrone - power and money makes men lose their minds and think with their other bits. Idiots.
What's really wrong with this is the number of young women that will download, listen and sing along to this song, and NOT KNOW THAT IT"S DO WRONG! I shake my head at my 15 year old niece and her friends. I justadon't get it.

This brought to mind the story Willie Nelson tells of his, now ex, wife sewing him up in a sheet while he slept in a drunken stupor after cheating on her. There he was in that sheet cocoon and she was beating him with a baseball bat. You can imagine what he thought when he realized that he could not get out of that sheet... "Wait a minute--we were meant to be together!" Now there is a song we should write!
