Shhhh....

I am doing a little bit of secret knitting. I could tell you a little something. But I won't. I'll show you instead...

Okay, that's not very nice. Here's a slightly better shot...However, in the interests of full disclosure....that knitting has been ripped. It wasn't doing what I wanted it to do. So, it went for a swim in the pond.

Attempt 2 is a little better. It is far from being a done deal, but it is behaving a bit better. A bit. There is still one part that I think may be misbehaving a tiny bit. However, in the grand tradition of knitters everywhere, I am ignoring that part and knitting away....

Not so Springlike

Everywhere in the blogosphere, I see people rejoicing in spring with pictures of flowers and trees etc. This is what my lawn looks like right now:

This is what the tree in my front yard looks like:
Spring? What's that? I am anxiously awaiting.

Recovery

Yesterday's workday was a day from hell. Seriously. My legs hurt before I even got out of bed. Then I got to work and it was awful. I saw a quote on Ravelry "hey you! Somewhere a village is missing its idiot" Well, I had the entire village OF idiots with me yesterday. Sadly, not all of them were clients. Some of them were the freaking staff! Argh. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.

So, today's agenda was to regain my equilibrium. In pursuit of that, I have the following:

That's right, the sovereign remedy...beer! A closer look at the label...The hubbunny is lurching about saying "Dos Equis, I don't just drink beer, it's Dos Equis" in a bad Mexican accent and pretending he is in a beer commercial. (at least, I think it's Mexican. It is a bad accent, as I mentioned)

I think it's funny that the beer is called "Double X". As in those cartoons from way back that had the moonshine in a clay jug with XX on them? Am I dating myself? Does that make me old? Hmm, I think I need some more of that 'sovereign' remedy.

Beer "Extra"

A while back, the hubby and I went to buy some beer. As he was putting the case in the trunk, he asked me if I heard music. I am so not the right person to ask that. My ears just aren't that good. Then we got home and again, the hubby says ," I hear music. Hockey night in Canada to be exact. Damn, it, we better not have won some dumb hockey contest." (as you may have guessed, we don't watch hockey. I will pause for the gasps of horror to pass.....)

We opened up the case of beer and found this:

Here's hoping this works! It's the first time I posted a video....

Hubby was relieved it wasn't a prize. He then had to pry the thing apart and take out the battery so the garbage can wouldn't 'sing' every time we touched it.....

Noragi Continues

Noragi is coming along nicely. I finished the back and am now working on the fronts.

I decided to knit both together, since they are only 40 stitches each. This way they will be identical. Hopefully!

Springlike

Since my knitting was not attracting me, I decided to repot a couple of houseplants. They were decidedly sad looking. When I checked them out, the prayer plants (also called marantas, I believe) had sent up new shoots! So I figured spring must be near and repotted the shoots and chopped off the ugly leaves. I had another plant that I have no idea what it is (the middle one in the pic below)that was growing roots out the bottom of it's pot, so it got a new home too.

The plant update isn't much of a post, so how about a vignette starring Raven?

Decision Funk

I seem to be hitting some kind of wall around here. I pick up a project and whiz along. Till I reach a point where I have to decide something. Repairing the hubby socks? I may have started the toe decreases too late. I have to put it on his foot to determine if I should rip back a bit. So they sit in the pile.

BLT? (Black Tomato)...I think I might rip the sleeve back to above the elbow and continue on larger needles. The last time I tried it on I thought the sleeve might be a bit tight around the elbow. But....that means trying it on again and deciding if I need to rip or not and then switching needles, or not. So it sits in the pile.

Noragi? As I reach the 23.5" mark, I find myself slowing down. Is it long enough? Nearly. Should I measure? Probably. But that means getting off my ass and doing it. So it sits.

Jean purse? It's not the size I had envisioned. I need to rip it out and start over. But that means I'd have to go get it and rip. Which would result in bits of fluff landing everywhere. Which means I would then feel the need to vacuum. Don't wanna. So it sits.

Tofutsies sock? I need to add gusset stitches. So I would need to dig out stitch markers. I feel lazy. So it sits.

I'm sure I'm forgetting at least one wip. Checking into that means I'd have to get up. Not going to happen. Here I sit.
Pagan has no problems with any of this.

Blobbity

The most excitement happening around here is clipping kitty toenails. Yup. Woo and Hoo! I am knitting on my Noragi in the spare moments I have. It's not very exciting bloggable stuff. See:

A brown blob. I'm almost done the back. Another inch or so to go. Then to knit up the fronts and sleeves. The knitting is progressing slowly because I discovered the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. I am not one of those wondrous people who can knit and read at the same time. Sadly, after a day at work, often I feel more like reading than knitting, lately. Mostly because I'm tired. Ah well. I am knitting nonetheless. Just not quickly!

Hardly Working

Today's pos tis brought to you from work. Where the computer crashed. Supposedly some brilliant IT guy tried to update the programming on the main computer at work. The one that all the other terminals connect to and if it goes down, the network goes down. The update crashed the main terminal. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice. Fortunately, we had a little bit of work to keep us occupied. We worked slowly to stretch it out.

During the enforced hiatus I recieved a faxed prescription for one of our patients. A small child. For whom the doctor prescribed Tylenol Elixer with codeine. The tech informs me that this child gets the plain Tylenol on prescription because the drug plan will pay for it. Which then begs the question, why does the prescription have Tylenol with codeine??? I phoned the (very rude) doctor and was informed that he could only find Tylenol with codeine on his computer and not what we asked him to write for. Which I find very hard to believe....

Let me get this straight...you couldn't find Tylenol on your handy computer prescribing program? Really? So instead, you prescribed a narcotic???? Instead of, oh, calling me? ::headdesk:: We did get it straightened out. But really, maybe next time he should let Raven use the prescribing software. Can't be worse.

Wanted ... More

I was buzzing along and thought,"Maybe I can get 2 of these beknighted things done". Then I hit the last quarter. My neck started to complain. My shoulders were tightening up. So much for that idea! But I did cut these off
and seam this up

I was thinking to get 2 of these 'cubes' done. My body however had different ideas from my brain. One more is done at least. Only 13 or so to go. At this rate, it's gonna take months!

I'm off to knit on Noragi.
